This Privacy Policy explains how the “Better Than Judy's?” app (“the app,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use it. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. Browsing the app requires no account. If you create one, we store your email address and a username. Your username is shown publicly alongside anything you post; your email address is not shown to other users.
- Content you create. The ratings, written reviews, questions, and answers you submit are stored and shown to other users, along with your username.
- Approximate location. If you grant permission, the app uses your device location to center the map on tea houses near you. Your location is used on-device to run the search and is not stored on our servers or shared. You can decline and still use the app by searching manually.
How we use information
- To create and manage your account.
- To display community ratings, reviews, and questions.
- To find and show tea houses near a location you choose.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Your account details and the content you post are stored there. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Apple. Apple Maps (MapKit) provides the map and place search. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
Public content
Reviews, ratings, and questions you post are visible to other users alongside your username. Please don't include private information in them.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and content until you delete them. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app — tap the account icon on the main screen, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all of your reviews, questions, and answers, and cannot be undone. If you're unable to access the app, email knitteljoseph@gmail.com and we'll remove it for you.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
